FOR SALE- 70's McCoy single fin.

I got the surfboard for my birthday I think I was around 10 or 12 years old -I'll be 52 this August. 

So it's a 70s board, moved my parents into a smaller house now that they're getting older and found it inside in storage in a closet! totally forgot about it for over 35 years! 

It's one of the first double winger  swallowtails with the lift up that I ever saw for its time! It's all original has a small chip in the bottom of the tail was board number 499.

Matt wrote- I recently received this gem from a friend that doesn't surf and got it repaired beautifully. Had to repair the tail and kept the original fiberglass to preserve its look. The board has no open dings and no soft spots. It is a bit tail heavy because of the repair. It is a twin fin with the option to put in a third middle fin. Squash tail. Single wing.

After my sponsorship as a competitor with Dive and Surf in Torquay [Fred Pyke] stopped, I was then sponsored by Trigger Bros. from the East Coast.  All my boards which I used in contests were made by them until about 1985 when Howard Hughes [my good mate from Airey's Inlet] offered to shape me boards.  I stayed with Howard until he shut his shop last year.

I sold quite a few boards for the first few years with Triggers directly from home at Anglesea and they had an "old english" writing sticker "alan atkins surfboards" made up for them.

I cant recollect the board unfortunately.  I designed my boards but didn't shape them personally.  Mostly I sold boards off the ones I was riding at the time.

I only rode twin fins for a short time and when thrusters appeared I moved over to them.  My surfing is strong on the back foot and the thrusters gave me move drive.

There certainly wont be many of those around!

Its funny, sometimes I wonder where my old boards have all gone these days as well.

SOLD- Vintage 6'2" Wave Riding Vehicle twin fin surfboard with star fins $400

$400- 6'2 Wave Riding Vehicle triple fly channel bottom, swallow tail, star fin system, twin fin shaped by Bill Frierson. This board was built on the East Coast but is now in Sydney. It is nice and thick and features unique channels in the tail that don't extend any further than the fins. The star fins are working but not matching. It is completely water tight and ready to ride.

 SOLD- Tim from Kona has decided to sell his amazing Geoff McCoy shaped Californian Zap. 

5' 10 1/2"x 20"x 3" all original (except some repairs to the tail & a couple others on the rails) double "bump" wing swallowtail, competition "texture deck" top, flowing arrows signature McCoy air sprays, overall bottom has a slight rolled "V" from nose to tail, singlefin box with both original McCoy style time-period fins...the 7 1/2" boomerang style long-rake fin & 8 3/4" STAR FIN, concept by Cheyne Horan design by Ben Lexcen out of Sydney, Australia. 

The board is signed on the stringer "McCoy for Chas...California '82" but no serial # on it.

$777 including both the winged star fin and the original Geoff McCoy shaped boomerang.
